Mike is a professional musician with nearly two decades of experience on stage and in the studio. Kristen left a six-figure job in politics to become a full-time visual artist. Together, they bring honest conversations, personal stories, and insights from fellow creatives across all disciplines. We read our chapter “Venezuela” from our book You and Me and talk about an encounter with a Venezuelan refugee family while we were in Colombia. We recorded this episode the day after the Russian invasion into Ukraine. We were initially going discuss “Pooping Our Pants While Travelling” stories, but the mood felt too sombre.
We talk about perspective in life, and although we might not be “wealthy” in the eyes of many North Americans, we have more than the vast majority of the population and are incredibly lucky and fortunate to have what we do. We talk about the current situation in Ukraine and Mike tells a story about killing a rat with a sword (sort of).
